Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Bombardier checked off another key approval for its flagship Global 7500 with European Aviation Safety Agency&nbsp; (EASA) validation, the company announced today.&nbsp;This nod clears the way for the aircraft to be registered in a European Union country, opening a major market for the 7,700-nm, four-zone business jet.&nbsp;EASA approval followed Transport Canada type certification in September and U.S. FAA approval in November.&nbsp;

 


The aircraft officially entered service with the delivery on December 20, a little more than 24 months after the first flight of FTV1. The test program validated a 300-nm range extension, pushing it past rival Gulfstream’s 7,500-nm G650ER.

 


“We’ve transformed business aviation with the Global 7500,” said&nbsp;Bombardier Business Aircraft senior v-p of program management and engineering Michel Ouellette. “With the longest range in the industry, the aircraft can connect more international cities nonstop.”

 


The aircraft also exceed original takeoff and landing performance commitments, Bombardier said, noting it can operate at challenging destinations such as Sion and St. Moritz, Switzerland. It also has the range to connect New York to Hong Kong and Singapore to San Francisco nonstop with eight passengers and standard NBAA IFR fuel reserves.

 


Bombardier, which said the Global 7500 now is selling into 2022, plans to deliver 15 to 20 Global 7500s this year, with the rate doubling to around 35 to 40 in 2020.
