After unveiling the SJ36 light jet at NBAA-BACE on Monday evening, SyberJet has secured letters of intent for more than 50 aircraft. Buyers of the single-pilot light twinjet include charter operators, corporate flight departments, and individual owners.
With a projected Mach 0.88 Mmo, 3,000-nm range, and a 49,000-foot ceiling, the SJ36 is a longer version of the FAA-certified SJ30-2. After Trevor Milton purchased the program last year, the company began working on the SJ36, and at the Monday event unveiled the SJ34, an upgraded SJ30-2 with more powerful engines and in-house-developed SyberVision Avionics.
The SJ36 cabin has been redesigned to provide more space and accommodate up to eight passengers. Like the SJ30-2, it can hold sea-level cabin pressure to 41,000 feet.
SyberJet is designing its own fly-by-wire flight control system and SyberVision avionics for the SJ36, including a zero-emission auxiliary power unit.
The company also announced plans to incorporate Bongiovi Aviation’s speakerless cabin audio system in the SJ36. Bongiovi’s digital power station technology delivers studio-quality audio through transducers mounted on the backside of cabin interior panels.
“SyberJet World was the first time our customers could walk up to the SJ36 and see what they have committed to, and the response was incredible,” Milton said. “More than 50 commitments tell us the market has been waiting for innovation. Light jet buyers have always had to choose between speed, range, and cost. The SJ36 lets them have all three. We are only on day one; imagine where we will be in a few months with orders.”
