Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Embraer’s business jet deliveries in first six months of 2016 remained ahead of the first half of 2015 despite a dip in the most recent quarter. The company delivered 26 business jets in the second quarter, down from 33 a year ago.

 


Phenom deliveries decreased by three units in the most recent quarter, to 23.&nbsp;But the mix in the most recent quarter changed, with 15 Phenom 300s and eight Phenom 100Es shipped. During the same period in 2015, Embraer delivered 20 Phenom 300s and six of the 100 models.

 


Legacy 500 shipments remained stable at three in both second quarter 2015 and 2016. But Embraer also had delivered four larger aircraft—three Legacy 650s and a Lineage 1000—last year in the second quarter. None were delivered in the most recent quarter.&nbsp;

 


For the year, however, Embraer’s business jet deliveries are still up over the first half of 2016. Embraer delivered a total of 49 business jets in the first six months (35 Phenoms and 14 large aircraft), compared with 45 in the same period of 2015 (36 Phenoms and nine large aircraft).

 


The most recent quarter also was marked by a <a href="http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2016-05-23/mexicos-across-reboots-fleet-legacys-and-phenoms">firm order valued at $260 million from Across in Mexico</a> for a mix of 23 Legacy and Phenom business jets. This helped keep Embraer’s backlog at $21.9 billion at the end of June, the same as at the end of March and near record levels.

 


Embraer’s backlog also received a boost from a <a href="http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/air-transport/2016-04-12/horizon-air-acquire-30-embraer-e175s-largest-fleet-order">firm order for 30 E175 commercial airlines from Horizon Air</a>. Deliveries in Embraer’s commercial segment are flat through the first half at 47, but the most recent quarter was marked by one fewer commercial aircraft delivery (26 shipments).
