RTCA Examines GPS Interference Training Impacts

A RTCA report details recommendations for better understanding GPS testing's impact on the NAS.

The FAA issued a flight advisory regarding GPS interference training, but the advisory contains little information on how this actually impacts GPS-equipped aircraft flying in the affected areas.

The FAA isn't providing enough information to pilots about the potential impact of GPS interference testing events, according to a report published by the RTCA, which is a standards development organization focusing on communication, navigation, and surveillance/air traffic management issues.
