Boeing subsidiary Jeppesen (Booth C10910) announced this week at NBAA 2017 separate collaborations with Universal Avionics, Honeywell and ForeFlight that will expand the availability of its data to the business and general aviation markets.
Jeppesen will supply Universal with Airport Mapping Database and flight data for the latterâs new InSight Display system, providing users with timely and accurate data including high-resolution airport diagrams, digital charts, and Navdata navigation information. âBusiness aviation operators and pilots worldwide using the InSight Display System will now be able to integrate Jeppesenâs latest flight-data technology and charts in the flight deck to further enhance their flying experience,â said Dan Reida, Universalâs vice president of sales and marketing.
Jeppesen and Honeywell have teamed on an enhanced data package for the two companiesâ shared Integrated Navigation Data Services (INDS) for installed Honeywell avionics. First available for operators of Pilatus PC-24s, the INDS will incorporate a database in support of Honeywellâs Airport Moving Map capabilities, powered by the Jeppesen Airport Mapping Database, to enhance situational awareness. The two companies also introduced 11 new INDS bundled service options for Pilatus aircraft.
âThe introduction of new regional coverage bundled data services will better suit the flying requirements of PC-12 and PC-24 operators, instead of offering a âone size fits allâ approach to INDS data coverage options,â said Jeppesen OEM client management director Scott Reagan.
Additionally, Jeppesen is providing its proprietary data-driven en route charts for ForeFlightâs Mobile and web applications. The offering gives ForeFlight and Jeppesen customers in the business and general aviation markets the option to fly anywhere in the world using ForeFlight Mobile with Jeppesenâs en route mapping data.
âThe addition of our data-driven enroute flight information further leverages the strengths of both companies to enhance ForeFlight Mobile as a full global paper replacement cockpit solution,â said Ken Sain, Jeppesen CEO. âWe will continue to work together to deliver dynamic enhancements for pilots on a global scale as we develop intuitive capabilities that meet the needs on an evolving flying environment.â
