Matt Thurber, editor-in-chief at AIN Media Group, has been flying since 1975 and writing about aviation since 1978 and now has the best job in the world, running editorial operations for Aviation International News, Business Jet Traveler, and FutureFlight.aero. In addition to working as an A&amp;P mechanic on everything from Piper Cubs to turboprops, Matt taught flying at his father’s flight school in Plymouth, Mass., in the early 1980s, flew for an aircraft owner/pilot, and for two summer seasons hunted swordfish near the George’s Banks off the East Coast from a Piper Super Cub. Gogo Business Aviation is adding a new option that will allow customers to choose a router from an approved provider instead of having to choose only Gogo’s router option. Gogo has already begun the process of testing and approving routers that interface reliably with its air-to-ground connectivity systems. “To ensure the highest quality user experience, providers will be fully evaluated and type certified on Gogo’s system,” the company stated.

 


The move gives customers more options for routers that meet their specific needs, according to Sergio Aguirre, senior vice president of product management and business development. “By opening the router to other providers, we’ve streamlined the ability for our customers to leverage Gogo’s world-class network and interoperate with our solutions for the best possible experience.”
