Visitors to the Becker Avionics NBAA-BACE booth on Wednesday afternoon (1 p.m. to 5 p.m.) can enjoy bretzels (German for pretzels) and beer while they learn about the company’s seven decades as a manufacturer of air traffic management equipment and avionics for airliners, business jets and turboprops, light aircraft, and special-mission applications.

In the business and commercial aviation arena, Becker’s products range from remote communications and navigation radios to control heads and even ADF receivers for the few areas where non-directional beacons are still operational.

For pilots, Becker’s digital voice communication systems are more familiar since the company’s units are installed in a variety of helicopters and airplanes. Other products include audio jack boxes and panels, an intercom amplifier and PA system amplifier, a Part 25-qualified ADS-B transponder, and a remote marker beacon receiver.

Becker Flugfunk was founded in 1956 in Baden-Baden, Germany, by Max Egon Becker, an automotive radio expert. The company started manufacturing VHF radios and branched into navigation radios and audio panels, and then other products to serve a variety of customer needs.
