Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Longtime industry advocate Doug Schwartz last week received the Flight Safety Foundation’s (FSF) Business Aviation Meritorious Service Award. The award, presented during the FSF/NBAA 61st Business Aviation Safety Summit in Austin, Texas, honors individuals for outstanding service and contributions to business aviation safety.

 


FSF recognized Schwartz for “his more than 40 years of commitment and contributions to aviation safety, and for his tireless efforts to advance safety and save lives within the operations of his employers and beyond.”

 


Schwartz currently is manager of global aviation services at ConocoPhillips, where he has responsibility for executive flight operations, corporate shuttle operations, charter flight support and aviation facilities management. He also has served as v-p of flight operations at TAG Aviation and director of aviation for AT&amp;T, along with having a 25-year career with FlightSafety International.

 


He has been actively involved in the business aviation community and aviation safety, serving on the NBAA board since 2004 and past chairman of NBAA’s Safety Committee. He also serves on FSF’s board of governors. He is credited as a pioneer in the development of crew resource management, and was instrumental in introducing the first CRM programs tailored for business aviation. He also has worked to ensure flight scenarios in simulators and to improve offshore helicopter operation safety.&nbsp;
