Matt Thurber, editor-in-chief at AIN Media Group, has been flying since 1975 and writing about aviation since 1978 and now has the best job in the world, running editorial operations for Aviation International News, Business Jet Traveler, and FutureFlight.aero. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recommends that airport and FBO operators read its new guidance document, “Enhanced Fuel Farm/Fuel Storage Facility Security Measures and Fuel Vehicle Access Procedures.” The two-page document is available on the National Air Transportation Association Web site (<a href="http://www.nata.aero" target="_blank">www.nata.aero</a>). 
The association said one area of interest is “the authority granted to airports to inspect fuel trucks each time they enter the security display area or secure areas of an airport.” The TSA recommends that fuel trucks be examined for potential explosives in the undercarriage area using an inspection mirror, inside interior and exterior compartments and under the hood. According to the agency, “If a suspected unauthorized explosive, IED or LVIED is discovered on the vehicle, the responsible authority could contact an appropriate law enforcement authority or emergency services response authority to resolve the incident.”
