Stellar Aviation Group FBO network now accepts major forms of cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, Solana, USDC, and other SPL tokens.
According to Stellar Aviation, the FBO network is the first in the industry to accept cryptocurrency payments for fuel, services, and hangar rentals.
“We are excited for this new chapter for our FBOs and the industry,” said Brad Kost, chief operating officer for Stellar Aviation. “As the world’s new generation begins its journey into private aviation, Stellar Aviation will be there to welcome them.”
The FBO network has already completed its first cryptocurrency transaction at Stellar Aviation’s Reno-Tahoe FBO. Freedom Air, a Part 135 charter operator based in Nevada, paid for fuel and services using GiveBack ($GBACK) coins. According to the company, the payment settled on the Solana blockchain at Freedom Air’s home airport.
“Reno is home for Freedom Air, so making the first on-chain payment at our home airport means a lot to us,” said Freedom Air CEO Joe Chaulklin. “A new generation of travelers is coming into private aviation with their wealth on-chain, and we want to be ready to fly them. Stellar made that possible today, and we look forward to doing the same at more of their locations.”
