GKN Spends Big to Chase NetZero Technology Leadership Role

UK aerospace group GKM wants to be a key enabler of the aviation industry's commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Pressure for the aviation industry to achieve net zero carbon goals represent a huge business opportunity for major tier-one manufacturers like GKN Aerospace. The group says that green technology will increasingly dominate its product portfolio and the focus of its many partnerships.

In a press briefing ahead of this year’s Paris Air Show, GKN’s CEO David Paja told reporters that already 90 percent of its approximately $3 billion in annual revenues relates to the decarbonization of the industry. “ICAO’s commitment to achieving net zero by 2050 [at its 41^st assembly in October 2022] gave us a detailed path to how to get there in terms of technologies,” he said.
