A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

International Flight Center (IFC)—one of four service providers at Miami Executive Airport (KTMB)—has unveiled its new FBO terminal.&nbsp;The 10,500-sq-ft, multi-level facility, which took two years to build, replaced a small terminal that was attached to an old, since-demolished 10,000-sq-ft hangar.
It offers stylish guest lounges, refreshment bar, pilot lounge with private bed and bath snooze rooms, dedicated catering kitchen, 10-seat conference room, business center, concierge, crew cars, and in-house café. IFC also has an FAA Part 145 repair station.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome guests to our new facility,” said Wilfredo Valle, co-founder and president of IFC, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. “Every detail has been meticulously planned to create the ultimate private flying experience, complementing the industry-leading service our customers have come to know and trust from International Flight Center.”
This marks the second recent expansion phase for the Avfuel-branded facility, which is located on the southwest side of the field. Last year, it completed a hangar development project, consisting of a trio of 28,000-sq-ft hangars capable of sheltering the latest ultra-long-range business jets. That brought the location to nearly 200,000 sq ft of aircraft shelter space, along with more than 12.5 acres of ramp.
