A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Aviation real estate developer and operator Sky Harbour has received a lease for a new hangar development at Atlanta DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (KPDK).&nbsp;To be located on a 13-acre parcel on the east side of the field, the “Home Base Operation” (HBO) complex will feature 130,000 sq ft of private hangar space suitable for business jets, with attached, customizable, high-end office space; private ramp; operational infrastructure; and private parking, along with a dedicated fuel farm for the use of Sky Harbour's tenants.
The company will also partner with the Atlanta chapter of&nbsp;Tuskegee Airmen, a non-profit group providing aerospace education and community organization, dedicated to maintaining the Tuskegee Airmen's legacy. Sky Harbour will provide hangar space and a classroom at the facility for their use, free of charge.
Pending FAA approval, the developer anticipates breaking ground at KPDK in third-quarter&nbsp;2027 and opening the facility a year later.&nbsp;"This is the culmination of a five-year effort to enter the number-one airport in one of the nation's most robust and fastest-growing business aviation markets,” said Sky Harbour CEO Tal Keinan.
For the company, this will be its 20th location nationwide, with nine facilities in operation in Texas, Tennessee, Florida, California, Washington, Arizona, and Colorado, along with 11 more under development, including its first several in the U.S. Northeast.
