A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

North American Flight Services, the lone FBO at New York’s Saratoga County Airport (K5B2) for more than two decades, has unveiled its new $32 million facility.&nbsp;The complex includes a 20,500-sq-ft, two-story terminal featuring natural materials.
Inside the terminal is an airy sunlit atrium lobby, 20-seat conference room, pilot lounge with a pair of snooze rooms, business center, balcony on the second floor with panoramic views of the airport, and “Alexi’s at the Airport,” a full-service restaurant slated to open later this year.
Part of a major airport construction project started in late 2023, the new development at the Avfuel-branded FBO also includes a 20,000-sq-ft heated hangar that can accommodate aircraft up to a Gulfstream G500. North American Flight Services will retain its former 1960s-era 12,000-sq-ft terminal for use during peak periods, such as race days at the famed Saratoga Race Course.
“We are beyond excited to welcome guests to our beautiful new facility,” said company owner Frank Zilka. “These enhancements were thoughtfully designed with pilots, crews, and passengers in mind, offering the comfort, efficiency, and capabilities today’s aviation professionals expect.”
