A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Odyssey Aviation North America has been rebranded as Velocity FBO Network by its new ownership. The trio of FBOs was <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2025-01-31/odyssey-aviations-us-locations-start-new-fbo-chain">purchased</a> at the beginning of the year by independent investment firm Tallvine Partners to form the nucleus of a larger service provider chain. The new locations under the Velocity name include Central Florida’s Kissimmee Gateway Airport (KISM), Detroit-area Willow Run Airport (KYIP), and St. Simons Island Airport (KSSI) in Georgia.
Velocity CEO Chad Farischon expects to announce several additions to the network over the coming months. “This rebrand marks an exciting new era for our team and our customers,” he said. “Our partnership with Odyssey Bahamas has been a meaningful part of our success, and with Tallvine’s support, we’re excited to continue to expand through a focused and thoughtful approach under the Velocity brand.”
The U.S. and Bahamian Odyssey locations first collaborated more than a decade and a half ago. While each will now operate as separate entities, they will continue to cooperate in marketing efforts to shared customers.
“We are thrilled to support this rebranding, which sets a clear course for continued growth and leadership in the FBO space,” said Tallvine operating director Ed Zwirn. “This reflects not only the strength of the company’s legacy, but also its forward-looking vision for delivering exceptional service, operational excellence, and an elevated experience for customers.”
