A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Skyservice Business Aviation held the grand opening of its new Seattle FBO on Tuesday. Skyservice—known then in the U.S. as Leading Edge Jet Center—<a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2020-10-05/northwestern-fbo-chain-acquires-seattle-facility">acquired an FBO</a> at King County International Airport (KBFI) in 2020 and <a href="https://backend.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2021-11-10/canadas-skyservice-expands-us">rebranded</a> it the following year, introducing the Skyservice brand to the U.S.
Nearly a year and a half ago, it <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2023-03-02/skyservice-begins-seattle-fbo-construction">broke ground</a> on the new facility—the company’s second location at KBFI, which is also known as Boeing Field. The 21,000-sq-ft terminal features a passenger lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ramp and a large fireplace, pilot lounge with snooze rooms, refreshment bar, onsite car rental, and a 12-seat conference room with access to a 1,600-sq-ft terrace offering views of Mount Rainier.
The complex includes a 50,000-sq-ft hangar capable of sheltering the latest ultra-long-range business jets, which brings Skyservice’s aircraft storage at KBFI to 110,000 sq ft. The new project also added seven acres of ramp.
“Our business jet center brings a new level of ease, sophistication, and luxury to the region’s business aviation FBO offerings,” said company president and CEO Benjamin Murray, adding that the area is a thriving economic center. “We are thrilled to welcome commuters, tenants, and visitors to Seattle with outstanding service and personalization that has earned Skyservice its reputation for excellence in the industry.”
