A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Following a recent spate of construction projects, Signature Aviation has completed the renovation of its FBO at Hanscom Field Airport (KBED) in Bedford, Massachusetts.
In addition to 110,000 sq ft of heated hangars that can shelter ultra-long-range business jets and 31,000 sq ft of office space, the facility includes a new, airy 6,500-sq-ft passenger terminal. This represents an increase of 2,500 sq ft over the previous FBO terminal.
Since many private aviation passengers prefer ramp-side vehicle access, Signature established a one-way airside loop at the facility to simplify transit to the aircraft, adding additional signage and faster-responding gates to optimize the passenger drop-off and pickup processes.
“Hanscom Field is a familiar name for any aircraft operator that frequents Boston or broader New England, which makes it an indispensable part of Signature’s Northeast presence,” said company CEO Tony Lefebvre. “Our reimaging of Signature Bedford has really been about delivering the best experience to our customers, down to the smallest details.”
The new KBED terminal joins the chain’s newest facilities at <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2023-05-11/signature-aviation-inaugurates-revamped-anchorage-fbo">Ted Stevens International Airport</a> in Anchorage, Alaska, and in the UK at <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2023-05-17/signature-aviation-inaugurates-scotland-fbo">Edinburgh</a> and <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2022-05-24/signature-opens-new-fbo-uks-birmingham-airport">Birmingham</a> airports. A new FBO is also set to debut shortly at Signature’s Key West International Airport location in South Florida.
