Jackson Hole Becomes Latest To Demo SAF

The airport-operated FBO offered sustainable aviation fuel last week after it received a shipment of 7,300 gallons of the blended fuel from Avfuel.

The 7,300 gallon shipment of SAF provided by Avfuel found its way into 35 business and commercial aircraft between Sept. 3 and 4 at Wyoming's Jackson Hole Airport. The concentrated SAF was produced by Gevo, Inc. and blended with standard petroleum-based jet fuel by Avfuel prior to delivery. The SAF demonstration was was held at the airport as part of an eco-focused event which corresponded with the ribbon cutting for the airport's new stormwater detention and filtration system.

Jackson Hole Airport in Wyoming became the most recent location for business aviation operators to sample sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) last week when Avfuel provided 7,300 gallons of the blended fuel to Jackson Hole Aviation, the airport-operated FBO. As demonstrated in events earlier this year such as at Van Nuys, California, in January and at several locations in the U.S. and Europe ahead of EBACE, SAF is a drop-in replacement for standard jet-A.
