EHST Issues Tips for Flying Helicopters Around Mountains

Pamphlet offers solid risk management guidance for helicopter pilots headed into mountainous terrain.

The European Helicopter Safety Team (EHST) is distributing a new pamphlet, Techniques for Helicopter Operations in Hilly and Mountainous Terrain, to help pilots and instructors appreciate the most important aspects of mountain flying and the risks associated with it. The pamphlet, which includes diagrams and best practices, emphasizes the need for pilots to clearly understand their own limitations.
