<p>Snecma is continuing development of its 9,500- to 12,000-pound-thrust Silvercrest engine for large-cabin business jets and RJs, with certification now expected in the 2013 to 2015 time frame. Disassembly after 80 hours of operation, which took the test engine up to takeoff speed and temperature redlines, showed the engine has exceeded the company’s expectations. The new engine has yet to be chosen for an OEM application.</p>
