“Free” is the most effective word in sales, according to marketing gurus, so Universal Weather and Aviation’s enhanced, free online weather video broadcast should attract considerable attention. Featuring more frequent posting times, the new version of Aviation Weather Today also allows users to watch individual segments of the broadcasts. Universal is showing the broadcast at its NBAA exhibit (Booth No. 219) here at the show. It is also available at www.awt.aero.
“These enhancements are based on feedback and recommendations from viewers utilizing the broadcast to supplement their daily flight planning process,” said Randy Stephens, senior director, specialty products. “Segmenting the broadcast into chapters is a time-saver for our viewers, as it allows pilots to watch the segments of interest to them.”
Produced by Universal’s meteorology department, Aviation Weather Today updates broadcasts at 6 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, and at 6 p.m. on Sunday. A weekend outlook segment will be posted at noon on Fridays.
Also at its NBAA booth, Universal is hosting three 20-minute briefings today and tomorrow. At 1 p.m. each day, Richard Boggs, operations manager of FAM International, will speak on aviation security essentials; at 2 p.m., Laura Everington, manager of regulatory services for Universal, will talk about regulatory issues for general aviation; and at 3 p.m., Greg Cox, vice president of UVair, will tell how to get the most out of your fuel program.
