The Magic 2100 digital flight-control system from Meggitt Avionics has gained STC approvals in the Twin Commander 690C/D and 695A/B (Models 840, 900, 980 and 1000) and the King Air 90, the company announced last month.

The Magic flight-control system is a three-axis, digital, attitude-based autopilot that includes a cockpit display incorporating altitude pre-selector and indicated airspeed hold function. The system also features voice annunciation and active and armed mode displays. Guidance is based on the Meggitt air-data attitude and heading reference system (ADAHRS), the same sensor system that drives the Magic electronic flight and navigation displays in the Piper Meridian and other aircraft.
