Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Eying growing demand for in-flight connectivity, ITT Cannon is rolling out its newest line of high-speed data and other connectivity technologies this week at the Paris Air Show. Its products cover a range of applications, from seatback entertainment to connected cabin systems.

 


"As aerospace platforms continue to evolve and transform digitally, the increasing need for reliable high-speed data technology and cost-saving solutions are driving our investment in new, high performance interconnects for the commercial aviation market," said Anh Phan, v-p of sales and marketing for ITT Cannon (Hall 3, Stand A98). "We're meeting this demand with offerings like Cannon's OctoGig 10 GB ethernet solution and ARINC 801-compatible fiber-optic series, which transfers high-speed data, video, and signal in a wide range of modern aircraft applications."

 


OctoGig is a smaller, lightweight offering that is easy to install yet provides increases in data transfer rates for in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC), navigation, and other commercial aerospace applications. OctoGig can be integrated into a range of connector systems for a spectrum of air navigation and IFEC applications in aircraft.

 


Meanwhile, its Arinc 801-compatible fiber-optic series is designed to provide an end-to-end system with connectors, termini, and cable harnesses capable of operating at transmission speeds of 10 Gb&nbsp;per second or more. This can also be fitted with avionics and IFEC platforms.

 


Other product lines include the multi-signal Quadrax Contact systems for data transfer rates up to 2.5 Gb&nbsp;per second and Cannon’s BKA Arinc 600 connectors. A size 8 contact assembly, Quadrax Contact provides flexibility for IFEC applications. BKA Arinc 600 connectors are used with avionics, cabin, and IFEC systems.
