A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Scotland’s Inverness Airport is the latest aviation gateway to stock continuous supplies of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The fuel, supplied by World Fuel Services, is a 35 percent SAF blend and available to all customers at the airport, which is operated by the Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL) Group.&nbsp;
Inverness will be the first of the company's locations to continually offer SAF and likely not its last. According to HIAL, there is an ongoing demand for SAF beyond previous trials and one-off deliveries. HIAL&nbsp;is said it is committed to becoming a net-zero regional airport group and the offering of SAF is a key part of that strategy. It has already taken several steps toward that goal, including the installation of solar-powered passenger boarding ramps, the acquisition of electric or hybrid ground power units, and the replacement of traditionally-powered vehicles with electrically powered units.
“At HIAL we are committed to reducing our environmental impact,” said managing director Inglis Lyon. “As an operator of 11 airports, it is important to work with aviation partners to decarbonize flights within Scotland, and SAF will play a vital role to help meeting the Scottish government’s target to create the world’s first net-zero aviation region by 2040.”
