A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Signature Aviation is celebrating the grand reopening of its renovated FBO this week at Smith Reynolds Airport (KINT) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.&nbsp;The aviation services provider occupies nearly 3,000 sq ft in the building, which dates to 1941.
The reconstruction project took two years and preserved several historical details, including an original mural dating back more than 80 years.&nbsp;The main lobby features a replica of the Savoia Marchetti S-56 that airport namesake Zachary Smith Reynolds used during his 17,000-mile global circumnavigation in 1931.
At the grand opening event on Monday, Signature provided guests with a walk-through of the facility, highlighting its historical details and updated amenities. It includes a spacious crew lounge with snooze rooms, business center, expanded refreshment bar, and an outdoor seating area on the second floor.
“Winston-Salem has a proud legacy in aviation, and the revitalized Signature KINT with the new terminal at Smith Reynolds Airport builds on that tradition,” said company CEO Tony Lefebvre. “Thoughtfully designed and crafted, this updated space blends modern amenities with unique design elements that honor the region’s deep aviation roots to elevate every moment for our guests.”
The KINT facility update is Signature’s latest for 2025, with similar unveilings at Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, and Palm Beach, Florida, on tap for later in the year.
