A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Dallas-area McKinney National Airport (KTKI) will be hosting an aircraft display day—free and open to the public—on Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm.&nbsp;Guests will have an opportunity to see a wide range of aircraft, including EMS helicopters, drones, business jets, and light general aviation airplanes.
In addition to allowing people to explore these aircraft up close, the event is intended to drive awareness about KTKI, which is a significant contributor to the local economy, generating nearly $300 million annually in economic activity.&nbsp;
“Many residents have not had a reason to visit McKinney National Airport yet,” said KTKI director Ken Carley. “Display Day is a chance to see the aircraft based here and learn how the airport operates today.”
After four decades of serving as a dedicated general aviation airport, McKinney expects to usher in a new chapter late in 2026 with the completion of its 46,000-sq-ft passenger terminal—part of a $79 million airport upgrade—and the start of airline service. KTKI is anticipated to serve 200,000 airline passengers annually.
“In the near future, we hope residents will think of McKinney first when they are ready to fly, as we work toward offering commercial passenger service close to home,” added Carley.
