Illinois Airport To Honor Local Aviator, FBO Owner
Galesburg's airport will be renamed for a hometown aviation legend
Galesburg Regional Airport (recently upgraded to regional by the FAA) in Illinois is the host for the annual Stearman Fly In, a gathering of the iconic WWII trainers. Local aviation legend Harrel Timmons—who has been instrumental in the event's operation since its inception more than a half-century ago—will be honored by having the airport named after him. © Galesburg, Illinois
