A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

With the <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2024-06-20/olympic-games-bring-more-bizav-traffic-paris">Summer Olympic Games</a> starting this weekend in Paris, Signature Aviation has stocked a limited supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at its Paris Le Bourget (LFPB) FBO. The fuel—a 20% SAF blend provided by Shell—will result in a 16% reduction in life cycle greenhouse gas emissions compared to standard fossil-based fuel.
“As travelers from all over the world gather in Paris for the games, it presents an important opportunity to shine a light on the future of aviation through sustainability,” said Sophie Lesnoff, Signature’s area director for mainland Europe. “We’re excited to bring SAF to Signature [LFPB] and, in turn, give our guests from all over the world the chance to actively participate in the most meaningful way to make an impact on carbon emissions reductions.”
In May, Avfuel announced it would be establishing permanent supplies of SAF at <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2024-05-28/avfuel-goes-saf-gold-paris">three</a> Paris-area airports, including Le Bourget, in time for the start of the games.
Signature recently <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2024-05-14/signature-goes-all-saf-klax">transitioned its FBOs</a> at Los Angeles International and San Francisco International airports to become the industry’s only private aviation terminals with a 100% supply of blended SAF, and it is available on a regular basis at 17 of its locations worldwide. The chain recently surpassed the 35-million-gallon mark in terms of SAF blend delivered across its network.
