Charter operator and FBO Rectrix Aviation recently received authorization by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to fly its charter jets into and out of Washington Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA). This designation follows an earlier TSA approval of Rectrix Aerodrome Centers at Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts, (BED) and Sarasota Bradenton (Florida) International Airport as permitted departure gateways for business aviation flights to DCA.

 


“We are proud to now make available our fleet of Bombardier Challengers and Learjets to customers in need of private aircraft flexibility and direct access to Washington, D.C.,” said Rectrix CEO Richard Cawley. Rectrix Aviation operates a Learjet 45 and Challenger 300 and 604 for charter flights and operates a passenger shuttle service to Hyannis, Nantucket, and Worcester, Massachusetts.

 


TSA security protocols were established at DCA after 9/11. Only specific gateway airports, certain airlines, and a small group of business aircraft charter companies have met the security qualifications required to have access to DCA.
