Officials with the Asian Business &amp; General Aviation Association (AsBAA) met with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) for the first time on May 19. Held at CAAP headquarters in Manila, the meeting was hosted by CAAP deputy director general Thomas Bustos and head executive assistant to the director general Nestor Pasano. AsBAA board of governor members Sarah Kalmeta and Max Motschmann<ins class="ice-ins ice-cts-1" data-changedata data-cid="2" data-last-change-time="1495377870558" data-time="1495377870558" data-userid="130" data-username="Ian Sheppard">,</ins> as well as chairman Charlie Mularski<ins class="ice-ins ice-cts-1" data-changedata data-cid="3" data-last-change-time="1495377874605" data-time="1495377874605" data-userid="130" data-username="Ian Sheppard">,</ins> also attended.


“AsBAA thanks the CAAP for the well-organized first meeting between our two organizations," Mularski said. "This marks the beginning of the road of cooperation between the business aviation industry and regulatory bodies in the Philippines. This spirit of coordination and effective liaison will help us to foster and promote growth for the industry, creating the necessary infrastructure conditions both in the air and on the ground for business aviation operations to thrive. In return we will see greater investment into better connected communities in the Philippines.”


AsBAA officials plan to collaborate with CAAP officials during a series of meetings to create solutions for issues in the business aviation industry.

News about bills, laws, regulations and other governmental decisions affecting aviation and aerospace. Topics include FAA re-authorizations, taxes on fuel and aviation activities, environmental legislation, ICAO decisions, governmental mediation of labor conflicts and World Trade Organization disputes and decisions.
