The U.S. Department of Commerce is organizing an industry vendors group to identify and advance export opportunities for Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) products made in the U.S. The NextGen Vendors Group (NVG) initiative was announced at the annual meeting of the NextGen Institute in Washington earlier this month.

Maureen Smith, principal deputy assistant secretary for manufacturing and services, said the initiative is a cooperative effort among the Department of Commerce, the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and the NextGen Institute, an entity that advises the federal inter-agency Joint Planning and Development Office on NextGen. The organizations will work in the coming weeks to gather information on preferred foreign markets, industry capabilities and market requirements.
