Joby Aviation will build its first large-scale production facility at Dayton International Airport, where it intends to manufacture up to 500 eVTOL aircraft per year.
California-based eVTOL aircraft developer Joby Aviation says it has finished submitting all the certification plans for its four-passenger air taxi to the FAA.
The eVTOL developer will also deliver nine air taxis to U.S. Air Force bases, with the first two aircraft expected to arrive at Edwards Air Force Base in California in early 2024.
Joby Aviation has begun wind tunnel testing with one of its eVTOL aircraft propellers in the National Full-Scale Aerodynamic Complex at NASA's Ames Research Center in California.
