Sentient Jet has offset more than 1.6 million metric tons of carbon dioxide since launching its carbon offset program in 2021, the company reported in its latest annual sustainability update.

The jet-card specialist provides emissions-neutral flights for cardholders at no additional cost, offsetting 300% of the calculated carbon emissions for each flight. The company reported that its total offset to date is equivalent to the emissions from 373,000 gasoline-powered vehicles driven for one year, or the carbon absorbed by 1.6 million acres of U.S. forest.

Additional measures it has undertaken include providing cardholders with individual offset calculations for each flight and developing an interactive offset calculator to further inform environmental impact. Sentient Jet’s partnership with 4Air extends offsetting efforts to include emissions such as water vapor, aerosols, and nitrous oxide.

Investments have supported a range of projects, including renewable energy initiatives, forest conservation, and distribution of efficient cookstoves. Projects span the U.S., Asia, South America, Africa, and other regions.

“As we build on our 25+ years of industry leadership, we remain focused on consistency and accountability in our sustainability efforts," said Alan Walsh, president, Sentient Jet. "Private aviation has a responsibility to evolve, and we’ll continue to invest in solutions that make private aviation forward-looking.”
