Third Kopter SH09 Prototype Flies

Kopter Group announced the first flight of its third SH09 test helicopter this week.

The third Kopter SH09 light helicopter achieved first flight from the company's headquarters in Mollis, Switzerland. A fourth pre-production copy is expected to join the flight-test fleet next year in anticipation of EASA approval later in the year. (Photo: Kopter)

Kopter Group announced that the third SH09 turbine-single helicopter prototype (P3) made its first flight this week from the company's Mollis, Switzerland airfield headquarters. The flight lasted 40 minutes and involved a series of maneuvers aimed at obtaining preliminary flight data, evaluating flight qualities, and validating design test features.
