The Austrian air force has signed a new deal with Saab Aerotech, covering the long-term support of the Saab 105OE. The agreement replaces one that also covered the Draken, but the Mach 2 fighter was withdrawn at the endof 2005 to be replaced by ex-Swiss F-5s. Saab Aerotech supplies integrated support solutions to a variety of customers in the defense and civil markets. 
The Austrian deal includes technical support and publications, spares and information exchange. Austria’s 40 Saab 105s were delivered in 1970-72. According to current plans they are due to serve for another 10 to 15 years and could conceivably chalk up a 50-year career. 
Unlike the Swedish Saab 105s, which were re-engined with the Williams FJ44 turbofan, the Austrian aircraft retain the General Electric J85s they were delivered with.
