Aircraft operators are being offered help in assessing the feasibility of each planned flight with the launch of UAS International Trip Support’s artificial intellience-based SkyX tool. The Dubai-based group launched the latest addition to its GTMx digital trip management platform on Tuesday at NBAA-BACE.
According to UAS, aviation professionals will now be able to start their trip-planning process by describing a planned mission in their own words and receive an initial feasibility assessment. The SkyX AI agent will quickly assess all relevant operational requirements, potential constraints, and logistical and safety considerations for specific destinations.
“Trip feasibility is one of the most complex stages of international flight operations,” said UAS head of business technology Shumalia Batool. “With SkyX, we’re applying AI to simplify that process, bringing critical operational considerations together in a more intuitive and accessible way. It’s about giving aviation professionals greater clarity earlier, while keeping human expertise at the center of decision-making.”
According to WingX data, business aircraft flights increased by 2.5% last year, marking a significant uptick in cross-border traffic. At the same time, operators have faced significant trip-planning challenges, in part due to geopolitical instability in multiple regions that have disrupted airspace availability and posed new security threats.
UAS has released SkyX for beta testing with operators who can provide feedback and suggested refinements. The company is demonstrating the new GTMx features this week at BACE, having introduced the new platform at the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference in March.
According to UAS executive president Mohammed Husary, the company is seeking to tap the potential for AI to deliver “real operational value” for business aviation companies. It is intended to support expert human oversight of final operational decisions for each mission.
UAS arranges flight permits and coordinates ground handling and refueling, as well as supports business aircraft passengers with concierge services. It has been active in the industry for more than 25 years.
