Since becoming an EASA-approved Part 147 organization in 2014, Belgrade-headquartered Prince Aviation has issued more than 2,000 qualifications for EASA maintenance categories B1.1, B2 and C.

Serbian maintenance, repair and overhaul group Prince Aviation has hosted the practical element of an EASA Part 147 training course for the Cessna 560 XL/XLS jets at its Belgrade base. The two-week program, which was attended by technicians from several European companies and independent specialists, followed a month of online theoretical training.

From September 28 to October 9, staff from Avantgarde Aviation, Alpha Air, and Excellent Jet Service in Germany, along with engineers with the Czech Republic’s DSA, gathered in the Serbian capital to attend the European aviation safety regulator's combined B1/B2 maintenance module.

According to Prince Aviation, this hybrid approach, in which only the hands-on element of the training was held in Belgrade, makes it much easier for operators to plan around. “Engineers spend less time away from their own fleets, and their companies get type-qualified staff faster,” suggested Prince Aviation Part 145 training manager and Part 147 quality manager Boško Zagorac.

The company said it can also extend this flexible way of working depending on participants’ needs, adapting the format to include in-person or remote theoretical training. This can also be augmented by practical training conducted on- or off-site. For example, Prince Aviation is also set to deliver a full Cessna 560 XL/XLS maintenance training course in India.

Last week, Prince hosted a live demonstration of Gogo's Galileo HDX inflight connectivity equipment at its headquarters.
