Duncan Aviation is growing the design teams that guide its customers through business aircraft cabin refurbishments, hiring two lead designers in Lincoln, Nebraska, and promoting three employees at its facilities in Battle Creek, Michigan, and Provo, Utah.
Misty Brookson and Christine Bonk joined the Lincoln team as lead designers in April and January, respectively. Brookson studied interior design at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona and worked in kitchen and bath design after a 26-year career in the dental field. Bonk, who studied interior design at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, spent about nine years in high-end residential design.
In Battle Creek, Duncan promoted Lauren Hawkins and Lauren Burkhardt to associate designer II. Hawkins joined Duncan Aviation in 2021 as a parts runner in the Battle Creek warehouse and later moved to the design team as a design assistant. She graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and media arts in April.
Burkhardt, a Western Michigan University fashion design graduate, joined Duncan as a design assistant in Lincoln in 2024 before transferring to Battle Creek in July. At the Provo facility, finish and cabinetry assistant Amie Jensen, who previously held that position, has moved up to the role of lead designer.
Duncan’s designers work with customers from initial conversations through project completion, guiding choices on seating, cabinetry, flooring, lighting, fabrics, and finishes while weighing factors such as weight, durability, certification requirements, and maintainability.
Because they sit within the company’s integrated refurbishment teams, the designers coordinate directly with sales representatives, project managers, engineers, and technicians to keep design decisions aligned with project scope and production.
