The FAA has issued a supplemental type certificate to AeroMech for installation of SpaceX’s Starlink low-Earth-orbit satcom system in Textron Aviation Hawker 700, 800, and 900-series twinjets. Installations are available at North American Textron Aviation service centers and select international service centers.
The STC enables installation of the Starlink Aviation Performance Kit, which can access Starlink’s highest-speed service at up to 1 Gbps download speeds and uploads up to 100 Mbps. This is twice as fast as previous-generation Starlink electronically steered antennas.
Starlink service costs were recently raised to $4,000 per month for regional service, including 25 GB of data and download speeds up to 250 Mbps, and to $12,500 per month for unlimited regional service at 500 Mbps download. Unlimited worldwide service with the highest-speed Aviation Performance Kit is $20,000 per month.
