For Million Air CEO Roger Woolsey, the company’s sustainability efforts are deeply personal.

One of the most impactful advancements has been Million Air’s investment in Sustainable Aviation Fuel. In 2025, Million Air Austin and Million Air Albany became two of the first FBO locations in their respective states to offer a consistent supply of SAF for operators. Together, these launches represented more than individual fuel programs, they demonstrated Million Air’s commitment to helping operators access lower-emission alternatives as demand for sustainable solutions continues to grow across the aviation sector.

The fuel offering includes a targeted blend of 30% neat SAF to 70% conventional jet fuel, resulting in approximately a 24% reduction in lifecycle carbon emissions compared to traditional petroleum-based jet fuel. In its neat, pre-blended form, SAF has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% over its lifecycle.

Offering SAF is one of the most meaningful tools currently available to reduce aviation-related greenhouse gas emissions without requiring changes to existing aircraft or infrastructure. By making SAF more accessible to operators, Million Air is helping bridge the gap between today’s operational realities and the industry’s long-term sustainability goals.

Beyond fuel initiatives, Million Air has also begun preparing its network for the next generation of aviation technology. The company has partnered with BETA Technologies to install electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) charging infrastructure at three Million Air locations. While eVTOL aircraft are still in the early stages of adoption, Million Air recognizes the importance of building infrastructure today that can support emerging technologies tomorrow.

The company’s sustainability efforts also extend to its ground transportation and facility operations. Across the Million Air network, electric vehicle charging stations have been installed to support both customers and employees. Corporate locations and newly developed facilities are incorporating a variety of sustainable building strategies, including the conversion of campuses to natural gas systems, extensive use of natural lighting to reduce electrical consumption, and transitions to 100% LED lighting throughout facilities and hangars. The company has also utilized reflective white roof coatings on hangars to reduce summer heat gain and lower cooling demands.

Several of Million Air’s New York FBO locations have already purchased 100% battery-driven, zero-emission 28.5 VDC electric ground power units (eGPUs). These units not only reduce emissions but also significantly minimize noise pollution compared to traditional diesel-powered equipment, creating a quieter and cleaner operating environment on the ramp.

The company plans to continue expanding the use of these electric eGPUs throughout its network in the coming years as part of a broader operational modernization strategy. Reducing emissions from support equipment represents another practical opportunity for the industry to improve sustainability while simultaneously enhancing operational efficiency and customer experience.
