A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Amid a confluence of factors affecting jet fuel pricing, demand, and new aviation sustainability requirements, Avfuel has brought a staff of 56 subject experts to the 2026 NBAA Schedulers &amp; Dispatchers Conference this week in Cleveland.
With conflict in the Middle East causing oil prices to soar due to increased uncertainty and disruption to shipping routes, Avfuel has strengthened its support infrastructure to help operators maintain reliability, compliance, and cost control.
“Business aviation is operating in a period of heightened complexity,” said C.R. Sincock, the Michigan-based fuel provider’s president. “By strengthening coordination across our supply network, regulatory expertise and customer support teams, we’re helping operators stay focused on their mission while we manage the variables around them.”
In response, Avfuel’s supply, logistics, and pricing teams have increased their collaboration to actively manage fueling terminals, secure supply continuity, and optimize distribution in this currently volatile market. The company stated that it has been able to maintain continuous, reliable fuel flow, with no need for customers to alter their standard ordering practices. This has also enabled it to support the fuel needs of locations outside of its regular fuel purchasing cycle.
Against this backdrop come two high-profile sporting events which are expected to create a surge in fuel demand in their host cities: the currently ongoing NCAA college basketball tournaments, and later this year, the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in venues across North America. To help meet those demands, Avfuel has introduced dedicated support for sports charter operators through customer-specific fueling programs, preferred FBO access, and event-specific pricing.
With sustainability increasingly on the minds of many operators, the company has&nbsp;expanded its AvfuelZero program and is growing a dedicated team of subject matter experts to support increasing customer demand for guidance. It&nbsp;now operates eight sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply terminals serving key U.S. markets. With these points in place, it can now deliver SAF nationwide. Avfuel’s physical SAF network now numbers nearly 60 locations globally, while through the book-and-claim process, it can offer SAF attributes anywhere operators wish to fly.&nbsp;
