
The ongoing conflict in the Middle East continues to affect aviation fuel pricing in the U.S., with jet-A averaging $8.39 a gallon last month, up 4.9% from August, according to iFlightPlanner. That hike represented a per-gallon increase of nearly 39 cents.
In the 48 contiguous states, the average was $8.30, a 5.1% increase from August. The U.S. East Coast showed the sharpest rise, with a 57-cent-per-gallon jump to an average of $8.69, equating to a 7% gain.
Avgas pricing surged as well in the U.S. last month, though not as severely, with full service averaging $7.75 a gallon—21 cents higher than the previous month. Meanwhile, self-service 100LL rose by 16 cents a gallon, for a nationwide average of $6.67.
Data was collected by iFlightPlanner from more than 3,000 FBOs and fuel service providers in the U.S. Over the past six months, national aviation fuel prices have remained elevated, with both fuel types reaching new highs last month.
