A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Embraer’s Executive Jets division is on track to meet its projected delivery forecast of 145 to 155 aircraft this year, the Brazilian OEM announced this week.&nbsp;In the first nine months, the OEM has delivered 102 executive jets—nine Phenom 100EX and 49 Phenom 300E light jets, along with 22 midsize Praetor 500s and 22 super-midsize Praetor 600s. Embraer also reached a milestone in the quarter with the delivery of its 2,000th business jet—a Praetor 500—to a corporate flight department.
Compared to the first nine months of 2024, Embraer is 16 aircraft ahead of its delivery pace. Over the past five years, its executive jet division averaged 45% of its deliveries in the fourth quarter, leading the company to institute a production leveling initiative to better spread work throughout the year.
“With our strong firm backlog and aircraft deliveries tracking ahead of historical averages, we are well-positioned for the final quarter of 2025,” Embraer Executive Jets president and CEO Michael Amalfitano told AIN. “And the Q3 delivery of our 2,000th business jet marks a historic milestone and underscores the trust our loyal customers place in Embraer’s product innovation and engineering excellence. As we drive to close another successful year, we anticipate further tangible results from our production leveling initiative, reinforcing our growth commitment to sustained excellence and operational efficiency.”
