A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

NBAA is gearing up for business aviation’s biggest showcase, its annual convention and exhibition, which will take place from October 14 to 16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and at Henderson Airport (KHND).
The event will launch with a keynote address from country music star and private pilot Dierks Bentley, who will describe how his recording career has been intertwined with his passion for aviation.
NBAA expects hundreds of companies to appear in the exhibit hall and to share their latest announcements. At the show floor Flight Deck stage, the organization will offer an expanded slate of panel discussions on key industry topics, led by experts in their fields.
In the Aircraft Connection static display at KHND, showgoers can view a wide range of the latest business aircraft from leading manufacturers, including Gulfstream, Bombardier, Textron Aviation, Honda Aircraft, Cirrus, Pilatus, and others.
The new centerpiece of the static display will be the Tribute to Flight Pavilion, featuring everything from vintage warbirds and composite aerobatic aircraft to all-electric air mobility technology.&nbsp;The show’s opening day will conclude at KHND at 5:30 p.m. with a networking reception highlighted by a toast led by NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen, honoring the Golden Age of Aviation and the dawn of a new era in flight.
“Get ready for a thrilling opening day at this year’s NBAA-BACE, from the moment the lights go up on the keynote stage, to the singular experiences in the exhibit hall and at the airport, to the capstone event that will gather the industry’s leaders and legends for an inspiring sunset celebration of all that is unique and special about business aviation,” said Bolen.
