A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Climbing Fast—business aviation’s awareness effort that lays out the industry’s benefits to society—has earned recognition for its use of digital media.&nbsp;In its annual awards, PRNews selected the program for top honors in its Cause-related Campaign category, and it also earned an honorable mention among the thousands of entries for excellence as a unified, branded effort supported by multiple organizations.
Launched at NBAA-BACE 2023, the program educates policymakers and opinion leaders about business aviation’s vital role in supporting jobs and economic activity, connecting communities, providing humanitarian support, and serving in the vanguard of aviation sustainability.
In a recent example, the campaign mobilized business aviation advocates from across the country for face-to-face meetings on Capitol Hill to discuss legislation critical to the industry and to emphasize to lawmakers the industry’s role in supporting 1.3 million jobs and nearly $340 billion in economic output.
“The success of&nbsp;Climbing Fast is attributable to the support of more than a dozen aviation associations and their member representatives worldwide who share the passion for business aviation’s value to citizens and companies globally,” said Kurt Edwards, director general of the International Business Aviation Council. “Business aviation is climbing fast toward a sustainable future and playing an essential role in efficiently connecting communities, creating economic opportunities, and fostering innovation.”
