Rotortech and West Star Aviation Upgrade Audio Systems

Both companies installed PS Engineering’s PAC45 digital audio systems in two separate aircraft

Rotortech Services and West Star Aviation recently completed installations of PS Engineering’s advanced PAC45 digital audio systems in two separate aircraft. These installations demonstrate increasing demand for enhanced audio quality, system flexibility, and digital capabilities in business aviation, the companies said.

In West Palm Beach, Florida, Rotortech Services installed the PAC45L Audio System in a Cessna 525 Citation, replacing the factory-installed analog AvTech system. The older system lacked modern functionalities, leading to pilot complaints about audio quality. “The customer really wanted Bluetooth connectivity, XM stereo music, com audio dimensional sound (IntelliAudio), and just better audio quality,” said Anthony Plesca, avionics supervisor at Rotortech. The new system features two CTL-L control heads, providing the crew with individual selections for three transceivers, sat phone, and PA. The system's HUB45A digital audio router facilitates audio management through a simple six-wire harness.
