A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Canadian aeromedical services provider Ornge has placed a firm order with Pilatus for 12 PC-12 turboprop singles. The Ontario-based operator is familiar with the type, having eight PC-12NGs in its fleet of fixed and rotary-wing aircraft since 2009. These will be rotated out of service as the new airplanes are delivered between 2026 and 2030.
“We are very pleased that Ornge has elected to continue the excellent long-term partnership with Pilatus in this upgrade to its fleet,” said Thomas Bosshard, the Swiss airframer’s president and CEO. “We take great pride in being able to support the health care system of Ontario's citizens.”
Ornge operates the country’s largest air ambulance and critical care land ambulance fleet, performing approximately 20,000 patient-related transports annually. It serves more than 13 million people in an area of nearly 400,000 square miles, with its operations control center in Mississauga coordinating the logistics of Ornge's 14 bases throughout Ontario.
“The Pilatus PC-12 has played a significant role in Ontario’s air ambulance program for many years. Its performance, versatility, and reliability have helped us deliver high-quality care in transport across the province, including many remote Indigenous communities in the north,” said Homer Tien, Ornge's president and CEO. “With the renewal of our fleet, we know that this aircraft will continue to help us save lives and deliver health equity for generations to come.”
