A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

With the end of the NFL regular season this past weekend, the business aviation community’s eyes now turn to the Super Bowl, which will be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on February 12.
The championship contest traditionally attracts scores of business jets but will be compounded by a major professional golf tournament—the Waste Management Phoenix Open—held in the area that same week. This will&nbsp;add&nbsp;further business aircraft volume, according to NBAA’s air traffic services.
To help expedite the expected traffic to both events, a <a href="https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publications/domesticnotices/dom22044_sp.html">ramp reservation system</a> is operational and reservations will be required from February&nbsp;7 to 14 for all arrivals and departures, including drop-and-goes, at airports in the metropolitan Phoenix area. Those airports include Glendale Municipal (KGEU), Phoenix Goodyear (KGYR), Phoenix Deer Valley (KDVT), Phoenix Sky Harbor (KPHX), Scottsdale (KSDL), Phoenix-Mesa Gateway (KIWA), Chandler Municipal (KCHD), and Falcon Field (KFFZ).
Each FBO has been allocated a number of available slot times&nbsp;and reservations must be made through either the service provider or the airport authority as necessary.&nbsp;Regularly scheduled air carriers and air-taxi operations are exempt from the reservation requirement. Due to limited parking availability, drop-and-go operations are encouraged versus overnight stays.
With Las Vegas expected to attract its own crowd of private aircraft during the weekend of the big game, as well as its close proximity to the game venue for use as a staging area, Harry Reid International, Henderson Executive, and North Las Vegas airports will also require reservations during that time.
