A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Tulip City Air Service, the lone FBO at West Michigan Regional Airport, is the latest to join the Phillips 66 branded dealer network, which tallies more than 800 locations. The full-service facility, which has operated for more than half a century, offers a complete slate of services, including aircraft sales, charter/management, maintenance, and flight training.

 


The FBO's&nbsp;7,000-sq-ft glass-sheathed terminal features 20-foot-high vaulted ceilings, a large passenger lounge with refreshment bar, two A/V-equipped conference rooms (seating 20 and 12),&nbsp;pilot lounge with shower facilities, crew car, and onsite car rental. It has 30,000 sq ft of hangar space that can accommodate aircraft up to a Challenger 350&nbsp;and is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. with after-hours call-out available.

 


Located in Holland, Michigan, on the shores of Lake Michigan, the FBO will now provide Phillips 66 contract fuel, a streamlined fueling process requiring no cards or releases. The airport features a 6,000-foot runway and is home to approximately a dozen private jets.

 


“We’re pleased that Tulip City Air Service has decided to come on board with Phillips 66 Aviation,” said Lindsey Grant, the fuel provider's manager for general aviation. “Their commitment to meeting the needs and safety concerns of their customers is evident."
