Sheltair Opens New Hangar in Tampa

The 32,000 sq ft structure, part of a $6.5 million development project, can accommodate the latest class of ultra-long range business jets.

Sheltair's new hangar at Tampa International Airport was the site of a grand opening reception for the new 32,000 sq ft structure on Weds.

Sheltair yesterday held the grand opening of a new hangar as part of a $6.5 million development project that encompasses nearly eight acres at Florida's Tampa International Airport. In addition to 2.5 acres of new ramp, the long-awaited 32,000-sq-ft hangar, the FBO’s fifth, brings it to 172,000 sq ft of aircraft storage and office space on the airport’s southeast side. Able to accommodate the latest large business jets, it features fire protection with a high-expansion foam fire-suppression system.
